I'm falling fast...I hope I remember to dodge the ground

Childrens Songs can be really creepy
Yup, you read right. Children's songs. Here are a couple examples:

Ring around the rosie
Pocket full of rosies
Ashes, ashes
We all fall down.

This particular song is about the Bubonic Plague (Black Death). The first line about the ring, is a reference to the skin rashes that were a symptom of the disease. You would get ringed blemishes on your skin. The second line is a reference to the fact that the people of the time believed that you could ward off the Black Death with flowers. Also, the smell back then was really bad as was personal hygene, so it could also be referencing that. The last two lines are about dying from the disease. Basically after about 2-5 days in most cases, you would die. Towards the end of the plague, they finally started to burn the bodies of the dead. Creepy.

London Bridge is falling down
Falling down, falling down
London Bridge is faling down
My fair lady.

Okay, to be fair, the creepiness of this children's song isn't proved. There's no historical evidence behind this. But some suggest that the meaning of London Bridge is that there used to be a human sacrifice to keep the bridge standing. They would wall up children inside the foundation of the bridge to ensure the security of the bridge. Again, this is not proven. They have NEVER found human remains inside the bridge. But it's still creepy that someone came up with this out of a children's song. Yikes.

Writer's Block: Fuzzy friend
If you could have any fictional creature from a book, film, or TV show as your pet, which one would you choose, and why?

Appa! Or momo...They're both kinda cute. Although I couldn't fly around the world on Momo.

STRESS! It's wonderful!
No, not really. All my term paper stuff is due in a few days, so I'm kinda freaking out! Yet, instead of doing my work, I'm on here posting. :) Love my procrastination. Haven't had much time to write, but that's going to change! So good luck with all your work, kiddies and keep checking back.

Time may heal my shattered fingers
Time may fix my broken Pride
Time may help me when Pain lingers
But Time won't mend the scars inside
